Meinau cooed with happiness, eyelids half closed. He was highly satisfied because Lyriel was taking care of him, by oiling and scratching him while singing. Lyriel had no clues when her next obligation would appear so she took care of her favourite friend. The song she sang was a lullaby, soft and slow. The young woman did not sing very high or loud and she had chosen the room where the dragonriders stored and repaired their equipment.
she had thought that after dinner, the room would be free.
she had settled in a quiet corner against a pile of old equipment and saddles, and had taken out her oil to massage Meinau, her blue lizard. he whistled in rhythm to show his interest and often stopped to beg for a caress. Suddenly he stopped. He opened largely his eyes and he got into attack position. Lyriel stopped humming and looked at the door, ready to apologize and flee.
