740.12.14 | Practice makes perfect? - D'io - 14.Dec.19

Secret Santa Event | Awkward flirting

Dandioar tossed the treat into the air for the bronze firelizard to dart after it. It was a good game they played, exercising Tigger's reflexes and exercising Dandi's boredom. Being a candidate was one of the most boring aspects of weyr life and one would think it was the most exciting. It wasn't. Not really, not until eggs were on the sands and ready to hatch. Then the real work began, the real chaos and fun happened after a candidate impressed. Which Dandi fully expected to do, even if he didn't impress at Ista. He had no trouble hopping to and fro standing for whatever clutches were happening and where ever.

He grinned as the bronze snatched the treat straight out of the air and Dandioar tossed a piece of rolled hide next. Tigger had to swoop to catch it but he did, blinking between and out again in seconds. "Good job!" Dandi said to the firelizard as he dropped the hide into Dandioar's hand. "Such a good boy you are," the young man continued as the bronze landed on his shoulder for quick scratches against his chin. Dandi chuckled at the very obvious attention-seeking the creature was displaying and didn't begrudge him one bit. Every now and again even Dandioar needed a bit of scratching taken care of.

He was getting ready to shrug the bronze from his shoulder and back into the air when Tigger gave a small hiss and chirp. Startled, Dandioar looked around and caught sight of a tiny blonde that terrified him. She shouldn't, he was head and shoulders taller than she was and could easily stuff her in a hole but whenever Dandi caught sight of Casa, he wanted to run the other way. And would have this time except she was quick and right next to him before he could move.

Damn it.

"Casa!" he yelled on accident and grimaced at the small crack in his voice, "What are you doing here?" He could still run the other way. He definitely could. His shoulders slumped slightly when he realized that he definitely could not run away from the small goldrider.

RE: Practice makes perfect? - Casa - 15.Dec.19

Casa had to bite the insides of her cheeks to keep from laughing when Dandioar shouted her name. Usually when people called out her name in breaking voices it was because they were buried balls deep in her, and not because they were apparently terrified. Casa glanced at the firelizard, smiling slightly; she had none of her own (and didn’t want any) but found the creatures mostly charming. She supposed they were kind of like children in that she didn’t mind them, when they were well behaved and polite, but she sure as shit didn’t want one for herself. Thank Faranth for herbs, between, and the fact that she was a goldrider and not some poor broad required to reproduce for her unappreciative husband. Ugh.

Tilting her head at Dandioar’s question, Casa gave him a small smile. “I live here,” she teased, knowing that wasn’t what he had meant at all. Honestly, Casa would much rather be studying, or having sex, or pretty much anything. But apparently the fact that she was going to be the Weyrwoman meant that she had to pick up extra duties. Casa didn’t appreciate that, but knew it was a small price to pay for the freedom Azrin had promised her in the future. With great power comes great responsibility – at least until you have a collection of carefully trained and owned (preferably through loyalty than money, but money could be used in a pinch) and given pieces of that responsibility, so that Casa could do whatever she wanted.

“Apparently,” Casa said cheerfully, gracefully sinking to the ground. She took care not to flash Dandioar as she did so, carefully tucking her short skirts around herself and curling her legs under her. Casa had nothing against flashing anyone, and enjoyed playing coy with some of her lovers and some of the more interesting Lords; she was even getting a good understanding of how to read the ones she didn’t know, to determine how they’d react if she did flash them. She particularly enjoyed the ones that looked like they’d just been given a glimpse of a most tantalising meal. Holders were mostly boring fucks, but there was a special kind of thrill in having them throw themselves at her, shoving their greedy hands under her skirts and between her legs… Casa felt her stomach tense, but only smiled politely at Dandioar. “Being a Weyrwoman means knowing your candidates. So even though most of you have already fled to Fort…” She shrugged. Which basically amounted to ‘M’ris is a grumpy bastard and sent me out to meet and greet everyone left here’.

Leaning forward slightly, her hands folded in her lap, Casa gave Dandioar a considering look, green eyes thoughtful. “So,” she said, grinning. “Got any questions for your Almighty Weyrwoman To Be?” There was a lot of self-mockery in that, but that was okay, especially since what she’d managed to dig up on the Candidates currently still in Ista wasn’t anything interesting. Such as the fact that she was pretty sure the young man sitting before her was about as innocent as a virgin could get, and looked like he was about to faint at having her so close. Maybe he was related to Madiquel?

RE: 740.12.14 | Practice makes perfect? - D'io - 15.Dec.19

"Well, I know that," he huffed at her answer. He hadn't really expected an answer to his shouted question, knowing full well that goldriders could go pretty much wherever they wanted and when they wanted. Casa was no different in that regard, but Dandi hadn't expected her to show up at all. "I just didn't expect to have company out here." Here being a shadowed place near some of the lower weyrs. He didn't have to hang out in the bowl, but he did every now and again when he needed some downtime away from everyone else. It just so happened that he wasn't exactly alone anymore. He sighed quietly as she sank to the ground and made herself comfortable. Obviously she wasn't going anywhere and his shoulders slumped a little more as he flopped down next to her. Standing while she sat below him had to be rude and Dandioar definitely wasn't rude.

"I'm fleeing there next week," he said carefully, "I mean heading over. I figured I could enjoy myself by myself before going over. Aradissicath's clutch can't be hatching any time in the next few days so I have time." And it was the truth. He planned to catch a ride later on but for now, he was going to enjoy the empty candidate barracks for the time being. Tigger chattered at him before blinking between, the firelizard heading back to their room now that Dandi's attention was no longer on him and lingering on Casa's bare thighs. Dandi swallowed a lump that suddenly appeared in his throat at the thought of Casa's bare legs and tried to remind himself why she terrified him so much. Aggressive. Too smart. Pretty. A goldrider. All things that scared the crap out of him.

Almost he met her halfway when she leaned forward but caught himself just in time. "Yeah, when I find one that's almighty I'll have all sorts of questions for her," he said with a smirk before frowning at himself. Maybe he wouldn't be so scared of her if she was brought down a peg or two, but Dandioar was already sorry for his blunt words. He sighed again and waved a hand, "Sorry," he grimaced and continued, "Alright. I'll play your game. Are you always so... In your face about everything? I don't mean that to be.. Uh.. mean, but you're just... A lot to handle."

RE: 740.12.14 | Practice makes perfect? - Casa - 28.Dec.19

Casa felt a bubble of amusement, hiding it from her features, as she took in Dandioar’s resignation at her joining him, and his quiet little quips about being alone. Well, no one was truly alone in the Weyr, and certainly once he Impressed he would never be alone again. That thought, Casa wondered if she would have spent more time alone if she knew she was about to Impress Thallyath. She did miss having her mind to herself… Casa bit back a smile at Thallyath’s indignant snort. The gold dragon was wallowing in the sun, up high on the rocky ledges of the Weyr where only a dragon could get to, and only one as small as Thallyath could easily land on and claim. Sure, some of the greens and blues could fit there, but who was going to take on a pretty golden girl who was known to be snippy?

“To be fair,” Casa said, “none of the seasoned candidates are needed there until the Hatching starts.” She shrugged one shoulder. Not that she supported a lack of arrival until the last minute, but when you’d been to several Hatchings – like most of her friends had; Casa was one of those lucky ones that Impressed at twelve to her first Standing – it was all rather tiresome to be learning the same stuff, over and over. Refresher courses were required for the longer standing Candidates, and the fresh blood. But there was a nice big grey area between that made for a world of boring. Apparently.

Casa’s eyes sparkled when she realised Dandioar was staring at her legs, not meeting her eyes, as she spoke. Her time with Azrin, and his needy Holderfolk acquaintances had taught her a lot more than just fucking folks who knew what they wanted. Some of the Holderfolk – and pretty little virgin candidates – were shy, reserved, or even horrified at their own thought pattern. Those were the ones Casa enjoyed; they wanted her, but hated that they wanted her. Not because she wasn’t delicious, but because they were weird and apparently thought they shouldn’t. Or that she’d be insulted. Being careful to keep her features carefully polite and matching the tone of their conversation, and to her movements, Casa shifted her seat enough to have her skirt hitch up a little higher. More thigh was given for Dandioar’s viewing, but she was careful to keep her hands clasped demurely in her lap. She didn’t want to frighten him away by flashing too much too soon!

I thought you were supposed to be getting to know the Candidates? Thallyath sighed, her voice a combination of tired and filled with rolling eyes. Casa gave a mental snort. Oh, I plan on getting to know him, she said cheerfully, her mental tone almost sing-song. Thallyath sighed, but left her alone. Which was good, because Casa was suddenly very interested in the quip – it had her offering a slight smile, almost a smirk – and she laughed when he apologised. “Nonsense,” she said easily, reaching out to put a soft hand against his lower arm, halfway between his wrist and his elbow. She laughed softly at him calling her a lot to handle; he honestly didn’t know the half of it! Casa bit her bottom lip, worrying it between her teeth as she peered up at Dandioar through her eyelashes. “Do you prefer meek?” she asked softly, shifting onto her knees in a smooth movement, and leaning into Dandioar, pressing her hands gently against his chest and pressing him to his back on the ground, “Or do you like being handled?”

Casa knelt over Dandioar, her knees even with his hips, her hands resting lightly on his chest. Once he got himself together, it wouldn’t take much to throw her off him – if he wanted to. She smiled at him, the tilt of her lips gentle, but challenging.

RE: 740.12.14 | Practice makes perfect? - D'io - 05.Jan.20

She was a terrible person and Dandioar would never tell her so to her face. He knew she wasn't all that terrible, just knew what she wanted and got it by whatever means necessary. Skirt hitching up and his eyes were still glued to the pale expanse there. Probably soft as fleece if he touched it but he wouldn't. Dandi wasn't completely hold bound but he also wasn't going to touch someone without their permission. He might if he could get his fear of her under wraps. It was just a matter of overcoming it. He could totally do that. Maybe if she kept up that demure look about her. But even as he thought it he knew he wouldn't like it for very long. Dandi knew without a doubt he was one of those people that was deeply attracted to things that terrified him, even if he liked to pretend he wasn't. He had appearances to keep up.

He didn't know when it happened but between one moment and the next, Casa was pressing him into the ground. She'd told him his apology was nonsense, it wasn't he'd needed to apologize no matter what she said, and laughed at him. Normally Dandioar would have gotten angry, his back up and snarly, he hated being laughed at, but he couldn't at that moment. It didn't help matters that Casa had shifted herself quick enough that her knees straddled his hips. Damnation but she was terrible. His eyes darkened at the challenge on her face, lips mocking him with a gentle smile.

"It depends," he told her with a voice that was steadily growing husky, "Would you rather be meek or would you rather manhandle me?" Hands drifted up those thighs and his teeth clenched. He was right, soft as fleece. She probably didn't do a day of hard work in her life.
