740.12.14 | Off-kilter - N'noa - 14.Dec.19

This is for the Secret Santa event. Prompt: being sick.

Narinoa did the Candidate Shuffle two days earlier to bring himself over to Fort Weyr for their Hatching that was still five or so weeks away. He knew he could have waited another week or two before moving over, but it was encouraged to spread out the transfers and he was simply in the mood for a change of scenery. The young weyrlings didn’t need constant or even occasional care anymore so he had no guilt in leaving in that regard. A portion of his friends would be travelling as well and lovers, like Casa and some of her men, would still be there when he returned. Fort just presented a new playground if nothing else.

If he could get over the queasiness he’d been feeling since shortly after landing in Fort. He wasn’t prone to any sort of motion sickness and going [/i]between[/i] had never bothered him before, but there he was, the start of day three with feeling light headed and sometimes with cold sweats. Concentrating on anything other than walking or attempting to eat was becoming difficult as well. After zoning out entirely during a conversation over breakfast he didn’t touch, Narinoa called it a defeat and realised he needed to be checked out.

The walk to L’gan’s weyr was long and full of bouncing off the wall as his balance was tested again and again. But he eventually made it, perhaps with a few new bruises that would bloom to life later, and didn’t even think about knocking before entering. He was such a mess that courtesies didn’t cross his mind; besides, he knew both L’gan and Sariel and even if he was interrupting a little morning romance, he’d only quip about being sorry he wasn’t in better shape to join in.

“Anyone home?” He called out as he shut the door and then leaned his back against it for balance. “I apparently look like shit and feel even worse. So a sexy Healer or two is needed.” He knew Sariel hadn’t been tapped yet but she was trained all the same and Narinoa would trust his life in her hands as much as he would in L’gan’s. So when she appeared, he sighed with relief, and slid down the door to sit on the floor.
