740.08.16 | Observations - F'drel - 06.Sep.19

Between Miri and R’dal, there was no way F’drel could avoid being dragged into visiting the new dragonets. In the past, it wasn’t too difficult to get out of it because Halomirth could easily go visit the babies herself, since they spent more time outside in the open, but not this class. It didn’t help that R’dal was friends with every person who had Impressed and wanted to check in with them all. Apparently F’drel was needed for this visit, despite not really knowing any of the new Weyrlings (though he had found out that the girl who Impressed, Madiquel, was the person Quinvalis had a crush on and thought was dating A’tay, so he was curious about her, on A’tay and Quinvalis’ behalf) or being overly invested in baby dragons in general. Still, he couldn’t say no to Miri, or to R’dal, and saying no to both of them at once was impossible, so F’drel visited the weyr set aside for the tiny class with them.

Once there, though, he let R’dal talk to everyone, and Miri excitedly introduce herself to all the dragonets. Her happiness was palpable, and F’drel couldn’t begrudge her the visit, especially when she got so much out of it. But F’drel didn’t really feel he had any reason to be there, outside of making Halomirth and R’dal happy, and while the two of them had a proper visit F’drel hung back. He’d let them have however long a visit they wanted, but he didn’t know these people, and there were the three Weyrlings and an Assistant and two Healers, and F’drel always felt nervous around new people. So he leaned against the wall, watching.

Miri and the tiny green were sniffing each other, though the blues had so far been more hesitant about the new dragons in their midst (Edath seemed to be talking to the blues, since they were looking at each other, but it was hard to tell with dragons) . There was another green there, apparently bonded to the Healer, who had settled in next to Miri and seemed to be talking with her fellow greens. R’dal was talking animatedly with all three Weyrlings at once, and while he could hear most of the words he couldn’t really follow whatever the thread of the conversation was. Sounded like a Katila brat thing, with background information F’drel was missing. Didn’t matter though, the conversation wasn’t for him. The Assistant was keeping an eye on the Weyrlings and R’dal, one of the Healers was watching the dragonets, and the other…was looking at F’drel.
