740.07.17 | When the Stars Align (It's Actual Date Time??) - Sariel - 21.Jul.19

Sariel needed a few hairpins to get her hair to cooperate but she won in the end. It seemed to be quite a struggle today. With her hair finished, she smoothed out the long green dress she'd picked out to wear to the Gather at Telgar Hold. Square necked with the waist just below her breasts, it swirled around her ankles as she moved. The emerald green of it was somehow quite refreshing and soothing. She had to bring something for between or nightfall, so she chose a gold and green pashmina and wore it close to her neck with the rest draped behind her in separate tails.

With a final flick of her fingers, she nodded, snagged her marks she allowed herself to have for the day, and moved to get a lift.

The trip was quick between and the coldness would settle into her bones for a while. Bless them for having hot klah ready, she could have kissed them all. The brown who had brought her snuffled at her and she grinned. He was such an amazingly deep brown, that she cursed not having her sketch pad with her. He knew he was beautiful, too, and preened with the compliment.

Meandering about the Gather, stepping lightly in her brilliant emerald slippers, she inspected goods here and there as she wandered and waited for L'gan. He was ferrying a great deal, it seemed, in.

Normally, she didn't buy a thing. Her marks were spent on others. Maybe she could find something functionally beautiful. L'gan might appreciate something like that. There had to be a stall around here that could easily cater to that. It was Gather, after all, and this is where some of the biggest marks exchanged hands.

RE: 740.07.17 | When the Stars Align (It's Actual Date Time??) - L'gan - 22.Jul.19

L’gan was kept busy for the morning and lunch hour ferrying holders and healers to and fro. He’d meant to take Sariel himself, but he and Semath were already at Telgar when the brown landed with her. They wrapped up as quickly as they could, then passed the torch to another pair. He landed and stuffed his riding gear in a pouch he handed to Semath to carry to wherever she decided to sun. See you soon, darling. Don’t get in trouble.

The greenrider snagged a meatroll and went to find Sariel; no mean feat in this crowd! He finally found her with some help from Semath mindspeaking a few other dragons, and went over to the stall where she shopped. L’gan slipped an arm around her waist and kissed her cheek. “You look fantastic.” He himself wore a pale green tunic shirt with embroidered leaves on the collar and hem. It was still the simple cut he preferred, but nicer fabric, as he didn’t expect any emergencies.

They browsed the stalls together for a while and he found her a small leather roll which could work well as a travel surgeon’s kit, buying it while she was distracted buying a toy for the twins. “Almost ready for a dance?” he asked when she came back over.

Her toy adventure went well and she wound up getting them a puzzle box since they were inquisitive souls and seemed to team up. It was quite clever. Each letter of the alphabet fit into the box just so and when you got to the last letter, a little tune started to play. It so charmed her that she had to buy it. While she was browsing, she found a few ingredients for a salve with a fresh, clean scent that she would mix up properly at home. It was good for a Healer's constantly chapped hands and some of the salves out there had really pungent scents. Sariel enjoyed the scents on the cleaner end of the spectrum because they interfered less with her diagnostician's nose.

Her wandering took her past a stall specialising in knives. Some were more works of art than others, but she picked one that was elegant and easily concealed. She caught sight of a set of surgical tools made with obsidian and smiled. Ah-a, that was the one along with a beautiful case. She was tempted to buy another set for herself but marks were near and dear. Next Gather, perhaps.

She turned at his voice, her smile brilliant as her green skirt swung around her ankles. A moment later saw her tucking herself against his side.

"I think a dance is just what's needed," she murmured.

“Excellent!” He let her slip her wrapped purchases in his bag then slid an arm around her and headed for the the sound of the music and dancing. He wasn’t particularly good at dancing, but made up for it with enthusiasm (and not stepping on toes).

Still, he enjoyed contradances in particular, weaving in and out with different partners but always coming back to start. What he loved most though about dancing was watching her move, especially in the flowing skirts of her gather gown. They whirled their way through several faster dances, allowing others to cut in occasionally, but coming back to each other with an easy familiarity.

L’gan had scoped out a few chairs earlier and sank into one to catch his breath. Feeling bold and seeing that chairs were in scarce supply, he tugged her onto his lap with a laugh and a grin, stealing a brief kiss to stifle her squeak of surprise. “Having fun, Bell? I’ve missed dancing with you.”
