740.04.06 | More Than Just Benefits - R'dare - 07.Apr.19

R'dare had spent most of the afternoon visiting N'mor and Z'rin. He couldn't believe that N'mor was mated no matter how much time had passed since word got out or how often he saw the two together. With how inseparable he was with T'ryn, R'dare always assumed those two would end up mated but given how N'mor and Z'rin had been looking at each other for months leading up to the big move, it really wasn't that surprising. It didn't mean he never teased them about being together, though! Picking on N'mor had always been fun and he wasn't stopping anytime soon, especially when he opened himself up for it by mating a way older bluerider--not that R'dare knew about the aversion to blues, just the simple fact they were bronze and blue was enough fodder for him.

He liked them together, though. They complemented each other well and gave R'dare hope that there was someone out there for everyone. Not that he was lonely and pining for a mate. He was happy living free and with open relationships. Actually, he didn't even count R'dal as a relationship but a best friend with benefits. Anyone else he tumbled into bed with were fun flings or thanks to a Flight. Still, friends in love was nice to see and as he left their weyr, he gave his new favourite parting that encouraged them to take plenty of breaks lest the old man died during sex. Z'rin's laughter followed him out the door and R'dare was still smiling as he wandered down the hall, wondering what to do next since he wasn't ready to head back to Fort just yet.

Speaking of sex and getting worn out, there was someone he could visit. Casa was becoming synonymous with 'great sex' but also with her special brew. She gave him a light dose the first time he finally found the courage to visit her again after the camping trip and the few following times since then as well. According to K'tir who had been there a time or two, it was to help him loosen up and to stop overthinking and panicking. The brownrider had a point. R'dare had been embarrassed over his actions when he got home from the camping trip and avoided Casa for several weeks before giving in to curiosity and if another hook-up was in the cards for him. So he appreciated being dosed and giving in to the sexual desires he had and the orders he was being given by K'tir and learning that it was okay to be raunchy and rough if everyone involved was into it. It wasn't like it turned him into a monster; sex with R'dal was still the same as it had always been and it was still just as pleasurable.

But as he walked to Casa's weyr, R'dare realised he wanted more than just sex with the gorgeous blonde. He wasn't looking for a relationship; anyone who had been with her knew that was never going to happen, even if they didn't mind sharing her with the Weyr. He was looking for the friend that used to hang out with his group when they were kids in Katila. She was always close to... damn, what was the kid's name? R'dare suddenly felt horrible for not remembering since the boy had died in the landslide. He'd have to avoid that topic until he could remember the name. But while she wasn't always a part of their group, when she was, she stood out with her laugh, eagerness to play any game, and cleverness as she outsmarted them all or came up with her own games.

There was no way she suddenly lost every brain cell because she was spreading her legs for everyone when she was bored. He was just looking for a friend to hang out with, properly catch up, gossip about her recent maiden Flight, and just chat the day away like he had been doing with N'mor and Z'rin. Hopefully Casa was home but if she wasn't, there were three R'nd Kids in Ista that he could track down and come back another day for Casa. The only way to find out if she was home and not already entertaining someone, was to knock and that was what R'dare did when he reached the door he was becoming quite familiar with.

RE: 740.04.06 | More Than Just Benefits - Casa - 01.Jun.19

Casa was studying, when the knock came on her door. And not anything sexual; rather she was perched at her desk, her hair pulled up into a messy bun with strands escaping to fluff around her face, and her bottom lip thoroughly chewed on – as was her thumbnail. The papers on her desk were older, geographic maps from before the plague, with somewhat questionable updates made without the benefit of a dragon’s eye view. In addition, Casa had (old) maps of the Weyrs, Holds and Halls; she was currently doing her best to re-draw and update the map of Ista Weyr, with ink speckling her hands and a splatter on her right cheek from where she tapped the quill against herself in thought.

Since Thallyath had grown bored and opted to go stretch her wings by flying along the coast, Casa had no way of knowing who was on the other side of the door, and she sighed in some irritation; usually knocks only came on her door when someone was looking for a booty call, and shocking as they would likely find it, she simply wasn’t in the mood. Her brain was filled to the brim with math, numbers, and landmarks. She and numbers hadn’t always gotten along very well, but with the forced requirement of them and her current homework, she was getting much better.

Standing, Casa set aside the sheet with the wet ink to dry, and packed up her ink pot and put her quill away. While most people she would just tell to go away, there were a couple of folks she preferred to keep in her good books and if that meant forcing herself to feel like getting laid, than she would. Not that it was hard, really; Casa loved sex and she loved sex with those particular people. Puffing out a breath, aimed upwards so it made her bangs rustle, Casa finally made her way over to the door. Putting on her usual dumb-girl mask, a blank expression and wide eyes, the young goldrider pulled the door open and blinked at… “R’dare?”

Casa’s mask melted away, and she smiled with genuine warmth at her friend, especially when a quick study of his face didn’t betray and of his tell signs; while there was always the possibility his visit could end in a tumble, Casa wasn’t given to believe that was why he was stopping by. “Hi! Sorry, I was worlds away,” she waved her hand idly, “Do you want to come in?” Casa opened the door wider, and stepped back, still smiling. Unlike her usual getup of sultry girly outfits, she was in a sleeveless shirt that fell to mid thighs, and a pair of loose pants, both made of soft cotton. Dressed for comfort, Casa waited for R’dare to come in, and then closed the door gently.

“I can put some water on to heat, or I have juice which is probably warm, or some ‘at least its not Katilan’ wine, if you prefer?” Smiling still, Casa ushered R’dare into the main living area of her small weyr – apparently having an undersized gold meant you got an undersized goldrider’s weyr – though having seen a lot of blue, green and even brown weyrs, Casa knew hers was still pretty spectacular. Just, distinctly smaller than her golden sisters.

RE: 740.04.06 | More Than Just Benefits - R'dare - 03.Jun.19

R’dare kept his smile in place as he entered the weyr in order to help hide his shock. He wasn’t expecting Casa to be dressed in such clothes that fit the lazy vibe she was suddenly giving off after he own initial shock of his arrival. She looked comfortable and a glance around the living room showed the likely reason for it. If he had to guess, she had likely been sitting at her desk going through all the papers scattered there. No point in dressing up for such work, especially if it was going to leave ink on the skin, like Casa also currently displayed.

“Only if you’re thirsty and I’ll have whatever you have,” he didn’t want to be an inconvenience any more than his surprise visit probably already was. He also knew some friends of theirs wouldn’t accept a drink from Casa after the camping trip without watching her make it but she always told him if she was going lace his drink with that crazy mixture. Besides, he couldn’t believe she would purposely drug anyone without their knowledge. That was too cruel for Casa.

“It can be a short visit as well since it looks like you were working. I was looking for someone to hang out with but I just came from picking on N’mor. Z’rin’s pretty cool; so chill and can take a joke well. I’m happy N’mor found someone like that. Might make him less boring,” R’dare teased but he didn’t think the bronzerider was boring, nor did he think he was overly arrogant like many believed. N’mor was simply N’mor and had to overcome different obstacles than them. People saw what they wanted to see in someone, like thinking Casa was only a dumb whore. R’dare knew there was more than the surface appearance his friends gave off and everyone else was missing out.

RE: 740.04.06 | More Than Just Benefits - Casa - 06.Jun.19

Casa laughed softly, waving a hand slightly as she made her way into the kitchen area, and filled two glasses with water. Making her way back, she waved R’dare towards one of the comfortable seats and handed him a glass. Curling up on the couch, she cradled her glass as she snorted at the bluerider. “Not on anything with a timeframe,” she said, shrugging slightly. “Just some entertainment for myself.” A smile curled her lips. “Company is a nice break, honestly.”

A slight grimace flickered over Casa’s face at the mention of N’mor; she’d never really taken to her classmate, and viewed him in much the same way that the majority did. He was weird, he was a tight arse who had no sense of humour and no idea what ‘fun’ meant. Casa wasn’t really sure what that made Z’rin, honestly. Casa snorted again. “The sex must be so droll,” she said mildly, though her lips twitched slightly as she cast and amused look at R’dare. She really wasn’t interested in their boring sex-life, but it was something fun to tease the pair about behind their back. Especially since, all considered, it didn’t take much to be boring by Casa’s standards.

“So, what have you and Daisy been up to?” Casa asked, sipping her water regally, though her expression was playful. “Aside from stirring trouble with the gimp and his new shadow?”

RE: 740.04.06 | More Than Just Benefits - R'dare - 10.Jun.19

R’dare laughed, stuck somewhere between agreeing with Casa and wondering why she didn’t see how fun N’mor could be if he was pestered enough. She was a pretty great example herself of being someone that could hide who she really was and gave off an appearance she wanted others to see. “No doubt! Z’rin is pretty old, though. I wonder if that makes him boring or as entertaining and practiced as someone like K’tir or R’vi. N’mor kept doing that stoic face with the occasional amused eyebrow twitch thing he does so I still don’t know for sure.”

With glass in one hand and the other free to do as it pleased, R’dare gave in and grabbed a few papers that his gaze kept drifting back to when Casa had been getting the drinks, though he ignored the map since it looked fresh and he didn’t want to risk a smudge. “Just for fun, huh? Casa, these are dates and special events for a Hold.” Was she studying history? Did the map mean she was doing geography as well? What was this girl up to and how could he get in on it? Probably best not to risk damaging anything if he wanted to get answers so the papers were set down and he sat down.

“And we’re up to nothing exciting, like usual. Well, until now. Now I’m at least being a nosy bluerider that just has to know what the so-called ditzy blonde is doing.” If only people knew what Casa was doing in her free time when the clothes stayed on! No one would call her ditzy again.

RE: 740.04.06 | More Than Just Benefits - Casa - 26.Jun.19

Casa snorted delicately, and shook her head, letting the subject of N’mor and Z’rin and what she was quite sure was a very boring sex life drop. Honestly, just because Z’rin was old didn’t mean he was good or interesting between the sheets – or anywhere else, either. Not that Casa was interested in finding out! No, she had no intention of sticking her nose into that relationship; if nothing else, Parella was damned scary (and honestly, would she ever bite it? She had to be ancient!) and Casa knew that greenrider would hunt down anyone that hurt her precious babies. Well, they were B’jin’s babies, but those greenriders had a fucking whack relationship… Shifting, Casa threw such thoughts to the wind and watched as R’dare poked around her desk.

A small, mischievous smile licked at the corner of Casa’s lips as she watched R’dare carefully put down the papers and turn back to her. “Mm, hmm,” she hummed, looking down at her glass with false demure as she took a sip and left his unasked questions hang in the air for a while, debating with whether or not she should share what she was up to with the bluerider, or keep it to herself. It honestly wasn’t nearly as interesting as he apparently thought but then, that made it all kinds of fun and exciting and lit the fire in Casa for causing mischief. She let the conversation turn again, wondering how long it would take before R’dare brought them back to her studying of non-sex-based things.

It didn’t take long, and Casa laughed at R’dare, shifting her position to set her feet on the floor, and put her glass down beside the couch she was on, close enough to not get knocked over in the event she forgot it was there. Though it was just water, so it wouldn’t be the end of the world regardless. “Oh, its not nearly so grand as you think,” Casa said playfully, standing up and flicking her hand in a come-with-me motion as she went over to the desk he’d just abandoned. “Since Thallyath is officially useless,” she snorted, ignoring the irritation that rolled off the gold; how could she be useless, when she was being exactly what she was meant to be? “and will be for the next several months, I thought it would be fun to map the Weyr. Do you know how many empty rooms, passages, and such there are?” She turned, lifting her eyebrows at R’dare.

“The Hold crap is boring,” she added, ignoring that. “Actual history homework for some goldrider crap that bores me to tears.” Well, actually she was brushing up on the history of the region’s Holds as per Azrin’s request so she would be quite so blonde and blundering in the social events he took her too (or, more specifically, arranged for her to attend). Casa didn’t actually find it nearly as boring as she implied, since she loved knowing things and pretending she didn’t, especially around entitled and arrogant men who thought she was just an empty little figure-head girl who didn’t know what direction the sun rose in each day. Fools!

RE: 740.04.06 | More Than Just Benefits - R'dare - 27.Jun.19

"Cas, are you kidding me? This is all so cool!" R'dare struggled to find an emotion and expression that conveyed what he was feeling since he was torn between aghast that she would find it boring and excited that she was studying such things and he might be able to peek at it further. "Don't you remember how I was practically attached to the Harpers in Katila, wanting to hear all their stories on history of anywhere and everywhere? It's so hard for me to get my hands on anything now but that's mostly because I'm too afraid to approach the Hall and ask to look at anything. Man, goldriders get all the cool things." He pouted at the papers, brushing a hand longingly over the top one and sighed. No doubt if he was a bronzerider he could have access to such things as well but as a bluerider, he'd be looked down upon and his own nerves kept him from trying anyway. Sure, the Harpers accepted them before the other Halls but they were just as nosy and curious as he was so it was more out of necessity than actually liking riders roaming their halls.

"And yeah, the map making is cool as well. Not really my sort of thing, though I bet T'ryn would be all over it," he hesitated a bit when he brought up their bronzeriding friend. Sometimes there was history better left untouched, especially when fucking your friend's ex was involved, but T'ryn and Casa seemed to be finding their footing again and T'ryn didn't seem to want to murder any of them for their naked times with Casa, but R'dare still quickly continued on in his point. "But I wonder if the amount of empty weyrs to occupied in Ista is the same percentage in the other two. Like, you're smaller but if you're twenty perfect occupied, are the others as well? Definitely too much math for me but if you guys figure it out, I'd be interested."

But his attention was drawn back once more to the so-called boring history and he finally gave in, picking up a pile, though he was careful not to mess up anything else lest Casa had a system. "This, however... need a study buddy? I can quiz you! I can read a fact, omitting a name or place or date and you can fill it in." He was learning it for fun so if he couldn't remember his new information that well at the end, no loss. But it seemed as a goldrider, Casa was expected to know such things so helping her memorize facts seemed more important and fun.

RE: 740.04.06 | More Than Just Benefits - Casa - 20.Jul.19

Casa laughed, amused and endeared by R’dare’s enthusiasm for the things she was learning. “We need some compensation for our dumb dragons being attached to the ground!” She teased, moving to join R’dare and peek past him to see what he was gushing over this time. Casa leaned against him casually and smiled, shrugging slightly at the quip about map making.

“I enjoy it,” she said, quite honestly. It had been pretty frustrating in the beginning, until she learned how to do the lines and get the image in her head onto the paper. She was never going to be Harper quality, but her work was hardly bad. It was pretty relaxing, really, and also gave her an excuse to go poking around in all the empty weyrs. She was still trying to work out exactly how to get to map the ones that were occupied. Probably she’d get to play at being a sneak thief and nipping into them when no one was home, before darting off again. That sounded fun, too! Casa smiled to herself.

Another laugh rippled from Casa’s lips, and she slung an arm around R’dare’s waist and rested her chin on his shoulder. His cheek was warm against her own as she grinned. “Sure,” she agreed, endeared by his enthusiasm and delighted at the offer to spend time with her that wasn’t focused entirely on sex. Not that sex was bad with R’dare — at all — but Casa did enjoy things other than sex… not that a lot of people (like, a lot of people) believed such things!

“That would be fun!” She said, slipping away from R’dare and carefully moving her mapping items to one side, where they wouldn’t be messed up. The ink was dry, but she didn’t want R’dare spilling the pot or knocking a drink onto them! Such work loss would be horrible! Instead, she perched herself on the desk, drawing her legs up and crossed, and resting her elbows on her knees.

“For every ten questions I answer correctly, I’ll remove a piece of clothing,” she teased, grinning mischievously, green eyes sparkling with mirth and playful lust. Granted, she did like things other than sex… but she really, really liked sex.

So much for not being in the mood, Thallyath drawled, and Casa laughed brightly, tossing a coy look in the direction of her dragon. Moods change, and he’s talking sexy. Thallyath sighed.
