735.10.14 | Birthday Bonding - Gabrin - 28.Feb.15

“Attention, everyone!” Gabrin called out from atop the chair he stood upon so he could tower above the crowd filling his home. He grinned when everyone quieted down and turned their attention his way, finished off his drink, and jumped back down to the ground.

The empty glass was placed on a nearby table and a full glass picked up in its place. He moved a few feet over to where he had left Ekshan and put an arm around the man’s shoulders. “Many of you know my assistant, Ekshan, but what you may or may not know is that today is also his birthday. So tonight, we drink and be merry in his name. To Ekshan!” Gabrin raised his glass as others followed his lead and took a large swig of the fine wine he had brought out for the occasion.

As the guests cheered and returned to their conversations, Gabrin pulled Ekshan aside with a slightly wicked grin in place. “Another taste of the fine life, my friend. Welcome to the world of fabulous parties where you are not only a guest but the guest of honour. Go, mingle, and enjoy yourself, Ekkie.” Gabrin patted Ekshan on the shoulder and gave him a light shove to the back to get him moving. His darling little Ekshan so desperately wanted this life but still seemed reserved and almost shy when he was given a taste. Tonight, Gabrin hoped the man would branch out a bit.

And be entertaining as he did so.

Smirking, Gabrin slipped off to do a bit of mingling himself as he kept a casual eye on his assistant.

Re: Birthday Bonding [Invite] - Khoemi - 01.Mar.15

Khoemi twirled his wine glass by the stem between his fingers, eyes focused on the way the liquid was swirling as he sulked in the corner, though in all honestly, only Gabrin would be capable of calling him out on exactly that. The young lordling had not wanted to come to the party, in part because he was not particularly prone to celebrations, and mostly because he was not in the mood (ever) to watch the bastard fawn over his latest toy, even if that toy kept Gabrin from breathing down his neck.

Unfortunately for Khoemi, his wife had insisted he attend before she took off to spend the evening with her sister – Gabrin’s wife – and half the other wives, which explained the overwhelming amount of testosterone that was currently guzzling wine too good not to be tasted and getting slowly but increasingly rowdier. That was not to say there were not women around, but Khoemi doubted any of them were married.

Khoemi flinched slightly when Gabrin’s voice called out for attention, and a flat look was lifted from the wineglass in hand to linger irritably on the other lordling’s face, lips pursed in irritation at his thoughts being interrupted. He had only just managed to get rid of the idiot that had been hanging around for too long since he entered. Khoemi was quite sure that Gabrin had sicked the man on him. As everyone around him raised their glasses in toast, Khoemi returned his gaze to his and leaned back against the wall once more, twirling the glass as he snubbed the toast.

He was not going to celebrate Gabrin’s little whore ‘assistant’, even if – or because – he was the reason the annoying bastard was not annoying Khoemi at every opportunity and making his life miserable. Scowling to himself, Khoemi threw back the last of his emptying glass, before grabbing another one off a passing servant; Gabrin was such a pompass basatard!

Re: Birthday Bonding [Invite] - Ekshan - 22.Mar.15

Ekshan was beginning to enjoy Gabrin's parties, but one in his honor was still a bit outside his comfort zone. His cheeks had turned a rosy pink once Gabrin had finished his announcement. He hid his embarrassment with a glass of wine, nodding absently as he was pulled away from the main crowd and given further instructions. Many of the faces were familiar associates and friends of Gabrin's. Though most had probably just come for the free wine it was only polite to thank, at least the ranking men, for their attendance. Plus he wasn't above using "his" party to further his connections with the upper classes.

Ekshan's slow circuit of the room finally landed him in the vicinity of Khoemi. He scowled, not sure who Gabrin was trying to annoy more by inviting the other lordling. It was rather obvious Khoemi wasn't enjoying himself, though that didn't seem to affect his ability to enjoy the wine being offered. Ekshan was tempted to simply ignore the other man's presence. One of the good looking male guests had already caught his eye a few time now and Ekshan was sure he could quite easily slip off for a bit of fun without anyone noticing. But Khoemi's dour expression sealed the deal, if he couldn't even pretend to be a good guest Ekshan wasn't going to let him off without a bit of unwanted attention.

He snagged a fresh glass of wine from a passing tray, Sir Goodlooking would have to wait a little longer. Ekshan prowled towards the scowling man, smiling politely as he approached. "M'lord Khoemi, I'm so glad Gabrin was able to persuade you attend my little party. One of his many talents as I'm sure you know." He said blandly, lifting his glass to take a sip of wine. He didn't understand Gabrin's apparent fascination with the man, other than the fact that he seemed to be playing hard to get. As a rule he usually avoided the other man, but tonight he was not feeling quite so generous and was also hoping to make Gabrin wonder just what they might be discussing.
