Purchase A Goody! We're heading North! - Record Keeper - 13.Dec.13
We are offering up opportunities within the Move-North-Plot for Players! Please read this thread for more details. The below posts include a calculator, and the options available for purchase.
Why are you charging?
We make Marks every time we post – 5 marks for every new thread, and 3 marks for every new post IC (1 mark per post/topic OOC on selected boards). These figures used to be a lot higher (15 and 5) and as a result, the Players of SP are gathering a lot of Marks! Yet… we have little to spend them on! One can only purchase so many firelizards!
Taking part in major events should be fun, but we also want to sink some of the funds being held by individuals. So, while taking part in the event is completely mark-free, we felt that by purchasing major roles, individuals get to do something fun and exciting – if they wish to! – and we get to empty some of those bulging pockets!
Why Percentage?
The use of Percentage means that even the newest face can take part in the event, and include their characters without getting freebies. By charging 5%, instead of a set amount of marks, everyone is on the same boat!
-> Honey Love has 7,239 marks.
-> New Member has 300 marks
-> Both pay 15% to be in the Telgar Hold Greeting Party
-> Honey coughs up 1,086 marks for her character’s involvement.
-> New Member pays 45 marks for their character’s involvement.
Why? Well, if it were a solid amount – say 400 marks – that price would easily be obtainable by long term members, while leaving new folk outside the ability to take part, as they would not be able to raise the funds required in time to take part! That’s not fair!
Thus. Percentages!
Calculating Your Amount
-> Consolidate all marks on your Player Account, by logging into each of your Characters, and sending the marks to the Player Account. This is done by clicking on the ‘Sen Marks/Gift’ link located in the sidebar, under your rank image.
-> Use the Percentage Calculator below, to input the Price amount (5%, for example) and the total Marks you have (eg, 1500).
-> Calculate the amount (5% of 1500 Marks is 75 Marks)
-> Round up to the nearest whole number.
Unfilled Positions
Any opening that isn’t filled by a PC, will be filled by an NPC character, who will not be available for Adoption any time soon; no loop holes! It isn’t fair for members to pay to take part in special events, only for others to turn around and adopt them, or get them for free!
What about Staff?
Any staff member wishing to take part is required to pay for their characters, just like any other Player.
