Landslide: Timeline of Events! - Record Keeper - 03.Dec.13

30.07.234 AL

3am – Hatching comes to a close; everyone returns to their beds.

8am – preparation for the evening feast in honour of the Hatching and new pairs.

11am – The Weyrlings awaken and feed their new dragons. Baths at the river edge, and oiling follow. B’jin will check each dragonet over for physical abnormalities or any potential issues.

12 noon - A light lunch is given to the residents of the Weyr, but otherwise they’re expected to wait until dinnertime for feeding. Weyrlings are likely to be showing them off their new dragon to the weyr.

2pm – most dragonets will be back in their beds; weyrlings may or may not crash for a few hours.

4pm – Weyrlings are once more roaming the Weyr. Last of the preparations for dinner are being made. The Gather Square has large bonfire bases set up around the outskirts and in the centre.

5pm – the bonfires are lit, providing light for those outside to celebrate the Hatching Feast.

6pm – Dinner time! All that delicious food is finally made available to starving weyrfolk. With an incredibly unhealthy dose of badly brewed Katilan booze. Weyrlings are, of course, restricted from such liquids but that’s okay – everyone else seems quite happy to drink for them.

7pm – Harpers start singing, B’jin may or may not be rip roaring drunk once again. He’s good for that. People are encouraged to dance! Dance damn it! (He is definitely very drunk; B’jin likes to do shots.)

9pm – Weyrlings will be stumbling off to bed, as will the younger (and older, probably) folks. The majority of folks are drunk by now.

11pm – Anyone still awake and dancing and partying is liable to be off their face drunk. Some will have begun to pass out in odd places.

01.08.234 AL

1am – Everyone has managed to stumble their way to bed, whether their own or otherwise.

2am – Everyone is well and truly unconscious to the world (Admin exceptions are allowed, but unlikely to be granted without really, really good cause.)

3am – the first rumbles of ‘thunder’ from the landslide roll across the land, but do little to stir up the exhausted and very drunk community.

4am – The mud and muck of the landslide comes down from the mountain, crashing through the edge of the Weyr without apology. It takes out most of the northern most located huts before anyone realises what is happening.

Dragon keens suddenly rip through the entire weyr, waking any that were not woken by the thunderous sound of the landslide.

All hell breaks loose.

5am – The gunk is still coming down from the mountain, wiping out the Healer Hall, the Weyrling Barracks and the Hatching Sands.

6am – The gunk is finally slowing off, and the weyrfolk are attempting to rescue friends, family, loved ones. Everyone is gathering beyond the Weyrfolk Hall and the Craft Hall, both of which managed to survive; the mudslide only making it about halfway through the Gather Square.

7am – dawn begins to peep over the horizon, bringing true light to all the destruction. It is a damp and overcast day, but no true rain falls.

8am – a rough estimate of the number of dead and missing can be hazarded at. Attempts are still being made to dig up survivors.

Day – The entire day is spent digging up survivors, collecting the bodies and taking count of survivors. The Craft Hall has been converted into a make shift Healer Hall by 9am and anyone with an ounce of Healer skill is busy working on the injured.

5pm – The Weyrfolk Hall has been set up for those that survived the lose of their homes, but aren’t ill enough to be in the Craft Hall. Some weyrfolk have prepared and lay out dinner as best they can. S’kef makes a generic announcement about sticking together and pulling through.

Tsuen is in critical condition after being half-crushed by some debris helping others out.

7pm-6am – Many dragonriders remain awake while other’s sleep, keeping an eye on the world in case the mountain decides to drop a lump of earth on them again.
Many lives were lost throughout the night, dragons’ keening keeping many awake and fuelling many dreams into nightmares.

02.08.234 AL

6am – Tsuen is not getting any better. S’kef calls a quiet meeting with the surviving Wingleaders to discuss the potential to return home. Meeting lasts a good 2-3 hours.

9am – S’kef calls on Jada, Rhaedalyn and Kahleena. As the eldest goldriders, theirs have the most power to stay the forces of Katila. They’re instructed to retain Nirinath’s command while plans to move north are finalised – they can’t afford to screw up and ruin potential ties with the Northerners by dragonriders getting excited and fleeing the mess.

11am – Tsuen dies. Krypth, Aradissicath and Okalinath immediately place a weyr-wide ban on all dragons, restricting them from leaving. Word passes around that S’kef has called a Weyr meeting for 1 hours’ time.

Midday – S’kef announces the Weyr’s plans; they will be returning North, but details need to be ironed out. In the meantime, everyone is required to heal up and those sound of body are required to assist with digging out the Weyr and rebuilding. The weyr will not be abandoned once they return North, but retained for their own uses.

1pm onwards – clean up continues for several days. Wings are rostered for collecting fresh water from the lake and bringing it back to the Weyr as the river is a muddy mess. Hunting and gathering parties are also sent out regularly to keep the Weyr fed.

08.08.234 AL – Krypth flies; Tyrrisath wins, confirming S’kef as official Weyrleader and Jada his weyrwoman.

09.08.234 AL – Aradissicath clutches in what remains of the freshly dug out Hatching Circuit.

Clean up continues for the Weyr at large.

Throughout month 8 IC (December RL) the Team will conduct a process of introducing the dragonriders back to the North, which will mostly operate through carefully timed Solo Posts.

Players will be contacted via Admin with instructions on characters participating and what goals will need to be met for a solo if they wish to take part in the process.

More details about this will be posted soon!
