Bath Time For Greens [Lansi] - N'del - 18.Aug.13

"Are you ready yet! I've been waiting forever!" Emeryth danced in place, tale lashing side to side and stirring up a small cloud of dust in the process. "Two minutes is not forever Eme." N'del's patient tone emanated from inside his hut. "Have you seen, oh never mind I found it." He stepped out a few moments later with a long handled brush in hand. "Now can we go? N'del nodded, "Now that I've found your scrub brush my impatient little menace." The green gave an indignant huff before offering the man a foreleg.

The brief seconds of bone chilling between were a relief from the stifling heat and humidity of the afternoon. N'del no longer appreciated the cold, but Summers in the South were best spent either in the water or the shade. He was about to spend at least part of his afternoon in the water scrubbing down his Green. Bronzerider might get more respect, but he didn't envy their having miles of hide to wash. He was quite happy with his smaller Green.

Emeryth back winged, landing lightly on the shore. She crouched down as N'del slid to the ground and landed with a grunt. He gesture toward the water. "Go on. Go get you splashing done." He gave the Green's hide a fond smack as she lumbered toward the water, warbling happily as she entered. N'del stepped back from the spray of water produced by the Green enthusiastic splashing. He'd learned it was easier let her have her fun before trying to make her hold still for a good scrubbing. Much of the first few months of his weyrlinghood had been spent chasing the little Green about with a scrub brush. Those days were more turns back than he cared to admit to.

"You about ready." He asked after Emeryth antics had decreased and the Green was floating lazily in the cool water. "Yes I suppose so. She paddled back to shore, rising dripping from the water as it ran down her sides. Pants rolled up past his knees, N'del waded in, scooping up a hand full of sand and using it along with his brush to attack a dry patch of hide.
