Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.
The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.
Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.
Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.
Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.
Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0
Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.
Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.
The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C
Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring
Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.
The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring
Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring
Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.
The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.
North: End Summer | South: End Winter
Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.
The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.
The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter
Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.
The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.
The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

This month’s riveting event is ‘Seas of Fun’, in honour of International Pirate’s Day! After all the drama with the fires, we expect that taking to the sea (or lake, river, pond, etc) would be a very relaxing way to spend some downtime for many dragonriders and Holderfolk alike!
In preparation for October, the even is “Memories of the Past”, which we hope will be a fun way to explore your character’s past, either in solo posts or threads, as inner monolog or as back posting! How you choose to partake is entirely up to you!
October will also see our next PC HATCHING! In order to have your Candidate qualify for Impression, they must have no less than 20 posts! There are lots of characters floating around who would be more than happy to help your Candidate breech that count! Don’t forget to also UPDATE YOUR APPLICATIONS where applicable, or make sure it is submitted at all! We can’t Impress your character if we don’t know what they should be getting!
As always, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! While you’re at it, remember to submit your favourite quotes – from your character’s or others! – to the Quote Submission Thread! We want to see some recent quotes thrown in with our old ones!
If you haven't already, please drop by the Dragonrider Weyr Allocations thread, and let us know where your dragonriders call home. We are hoping to set up Wings across the three PC Weyrs over the next month or so, and your assistance is much appreciated! As a result, we will be looking for Wingleaders, Wingseconds, and of course Candidates for the clutches we have scheduled for this year!
Okay. So moving on! This month sees us (hopefully) wrapping up the Camp Kink event! Who doesn’t love an abundance of young adults exploring their sexuality without restraint? Its been a hell of a fun ride (haha get it?) so far! Can’t wait to see what the grapevine makes of it when words gets out … haha!
On a more serious note, this month will see us engaging in the Istan Wildfires! This event is a free for all! Feel free to have your characters interact with the event in any way you feel is suitable! There is a lot of room here for personal dramas, trouble making, hero worshiping, etcetera! We really want to see how characters interact with, and dictate, the outcome of the event!
Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

This month also saw Gold Bedith of Mulrissa take to the skies! She was won by young Syrendryth of T'ryn! Congrats, and may your Hatching be less dramatic than the last one! The Hatching will take place in October so you have a lot of time to get Candidates created, approved, and posting up a storm!

With the end of December, our Christmas layout has gone back into hiding! You'll be able to use it again at the end of the year, when Christmas again rolls around. You can expect a new layout for the site in the near future.
We will also be awarding the HORRIFYING MOMENTS stamps to those who qualified for them, as well as the WORDS OF THE MONTH for November. We hope you enjoyed these Events, and you can expect more of them in the upcoming year!
This month we will also be focusing on the RP Records, and request you submit all your threads here so we can update the Timeline! As it says in the thread, the Timeline will be updated every month, in the first week. To help us maintain, be sure to submit your threads as soon as you open them!
This month we are doing a 'Words of the Month' event! You can choose your word/s as indicated in the thread, and may particpate with as many characters as you desire! This contest has no voting to earn stamps; you get a stamp just for participating! Enjoy!
Our next PC Clutch will be in the new year, so now is the pefect time to join with old candidates (how many clutches have they stood for now?!) and candidate hopefuls! Get those eager young men and women out there and grow them so we can match them with their perfect lifemate when the new year rolls around and one of our lovely golds throws a clutch on the Sands -- At this point in time, the Weyrs are sharing Candidates, so your Candidate can be Searched by any Weyr, and transfer to the one holding the PC clutch!
History is almost complete, and the profile has been re-coded. All new characters will need to go onto the new profile, but all old can keep their current! We'll begin advertising properly over the next couple of weeks, once the history has been completed, and probably after the weekend of the 8th and 9th, because that is when ThistleProse is having her birthday.
We officially have two layouts! You can post here with any issues you find, or request any changes!
If you find any bugs or issues, plese repot them here, and we will do our best to fix them in a timely manner.

While he has been working with his hands more since Impressing, his hands are still rather soft and smooth.

Poetry - He enjoys writing poetry to pass the time, especially about other people.
Back Rubs - He is a back rub slut and loves both giving and receiving massages.
Trustworthy - If he says he will do something, D'nei can be trusted to follow through, similarly if he's told to keep a secret he will keep it with as much seriousness as any of his own.
Discomfort - Whether it's scratchy fabrics or hard beds, D'nei has grown used to the finer things in life and is now a bit spoiled.
Slow to adjust - It takes D'nei a while to get used to new situations and really settle in. He's prone to delaying that adjustment even further by avoiding things.
D'nei is a horrible romantic who holds lofty ideas about love, affection, and friendship. His slowness to adjust means he hasn't gone out and made a lot of friends at the Weyr, but he holds the ones he does have in high regard. He wants to settle down with a romantic partner one day, but he tries to avoid entering into relationships because he doesn't believe he can satisfy a partner due to being asexual. He secretly dreads the thought of Casnovath chasing, and is torn between wanting his dragon to be happy and hoping he'll lose.

Mother: Neimaria (b.701, d.)
Housewife
725 and 5 - Has a rather normal childhood, Domnei is a bright and curious boy who wants to grow up to be just like his father.
730 and 10 - Learns how to cook breakfast from his dad to help celebrate his mother's birthday. His father has always been romantic to his mother and it rubbed off on Domnae.
733 and 13 - Discovers poetry and falls madly in love with it. The Harper tutoring him encourages him to give it his own try.
735 and 15 - His older brother pokes fun at him for his apparent disinterest in girls. Domnei tries to ask a girl out on a date, and while he has fun, he can't bring himself to get past kissing.
736 and 16 - Catches the eye of Keavos, one of the Lord Holder's younger brothers. He initially offers to take the young man under his wing to teach him a few things but starts spending more and more time just talking and hanging out. He gives Domnei the occasional gift as a reward for progress made in his studies.
737 and 17 - It becomes obvious that Keavos has more romantic intentions, but he's not pushy. Publicly he still acts as Domnei's mentor, but the gifts increase in value and frequency. Domnei starts spending more time with the man, and while he enjoys the attention and the gifts he finds himself just enjoying Keavos's company.
738 and 18 - Enjoys the romance he has with Keavos, though it still hasn't progressed into anything phsyical beyond cuddling and kissing. He finds himself enjoying being a romantic and despite his status as sugar baby, Domnei tries to find ways to spoil Keavos in return.
739 and 19 - During a bout of drunkenness, Keavos apologizes to Domnei for cheating on him and begs for the younger man to forgive him. Domnei is heartbroken, but mostly because of how much Keavos is hurting. He realizes that the man has needs he can't fulfill and tries to make things work for them.
740 and 20 - At the end of the year Domnei is searched by a bluerider. He agrees to go, leaving only a letter for Keavos hoping that the man will move on and find someone new who can love him back like he deserves.
741 and 21 - Impresses at the first hatching he Stands at to blue Casnovath. He'd barely had time to even settle into the Weyr but now he has a new dragon, a new name, and a new life. The changes are drastic and D'nei dedicates himself to studies, his dragon, and exercise to try and keep himself distracted.

Generally dashing and daring, Casnovath is especially friendly and outgoing when it comes to greens and other blues. He finds humans to be curious, but doesn't tend to speak to them, preferring to let D'nei handle all of that while he quietly listens and snoop. When he thinks D'nei might be interested in a person romantically he becomes overly critical, worried about his precious rider's happiness above all else, and becomes especially wary of people who might hurt him.
Casnovath's nose and face get cold easily and he hates it. Whenever he's lying down or cuddling he will bury his face against his cuddle partner or bury it under his tail or a foreleg to try to keep warm. When he's in his own weyr or out on the ledge he will sometimes make D'nei put a blanket over his head.
A bit of a gambler, he tries to make everything a bet or wager and frequently tries to dare D'nei into doing things.
Likes:
Greens - Casnovath is in love with every green, and he remembers all of their names and does his best to woo every single one because they are all beautiful.
New Things - An intensely curious dragon, Casnovath loves to hear new stories, see new places, meet new people, and trying new things.
Dislikes:
Being Dirty - He has to look his best for the ladies.
Monotony - He becomes easily bored with regular routines and doing the same thing over and over again.
Strengths:
Good Memory for Names and Faces - He's good at remembering names and faces and can quickly identify people and dragons even if he only met them briefly.
Adaptable - Unlike his rider, Casnovath is quick to adapt to new situations and make adjustments. He finds change to be interesting and not some terrifying new thing that has to be gotten used to.
Weaknesses:
Greens - They have him wrapped around their proverbial fingers and he cannot resist chasing them or doing things for them.
Restless - Easily bored, Casnovath isn't good at just relaxing unless he is napping or has a partner to cuddle with.
Compulsive Gambler - It's hard to resist a bet, and though D'nei tries to keep him reigned in it doesn't always work. Casnovath can be easily tricked into doing things under the premise of "I bet you can't..."
